The Milton Hospital was known for much of the twentieth century as Centinela Hospital. In 2004, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare bought Centinela and added it to its 3-location Centinela Freeman Health System. The other two facilities were Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center, Marina Campus (known previously as Marina Mercy Hospital), and Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center, Memorial Campus (known before as Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital).
