The lawyer and real estate developer Daniel Freeman (1837-1918) erected this mansion on his former rancho property in Inglewood, CA, a Los Angeles, CA, suburb that he helped to plat. The sprawling residence had a complex, picturesque massing of forms covered by an equally complex assortment of roofs. The exterior had some half-timbering. A wraparound front porch supported by masonry piers provided deep shade and admitted visitors on one corner.
