The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad had laid tracks connecting Inglewood, CA, with Port Ballona, what would later be known as Playa del Rey, and operated trains between the two points by 08/21/1887. Inglewood was connected to Redondo Beach by a Santa Fe line on 04/05/1888. Another line connecting Inglewood with Ocean Park south of Santa Monica started operation on 06/18/1892.
