This was the second large laboratory operated by Autonetics, a division of North American Aviation since 1945. Autonetics's first research facility was located in Downey, CA, but relocated to Anaheim in 1960. This company, like other divisions with NAA, participated in various aspects of the Navaho Missile Program which developed basic rocket engine and missile guidance systems for the military and NASA.
