This house was built c. 1940, and had stylistic attributes of New England Colonial (or Monterey Colonial) houses synthesized with one-story ranch house planning. As Elizabeth Gordon noted in her 1947 recap of the top 12 houses of the last 12 years published by House Beautiful magazine, this design by Siple was one of "...a few which have combined contemporary planning and traditional facades efficiently...." (See Elizabeth Gordon, "The idiom of traditionalism cloaks a relatively good floor plan and very good site plan," House Beautiful, 89:9, 09/1947, p. 108-109.) This house was first published in House Beautiful in 01/1945.
