This high school, in 2011, accommodated over 5,000 students from the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Bell, Cudahy, and Maywood.

Architect Robert F. Train (1869-1951), designed a portion of the high school in the PWA Moderne Style, a variant of the Streamlined Moderne Style popular during the mid-1930s.
