Millard Sheets, who was the "house" architect for Homes Savings and Loan, worked with S. David Underwood, who also had connections to the Ahmanson Family, on this H S and L branch.

Artist Tom Van Sant created the mural "Sources of Knowledge" for this branch bank in 1962.
