This light rail line was being planned in 2010, seeking to link the intersection of Bellevue Way and U.S. Interstate Highway 90 and 118th Avenue SE. At this time, 10/05/2010, Sound Transit had completed 15% of the engineering work needed to plan the line, but had already planned its route through South Bellevue. Residents of the Surrey Downs and other South Bellevue Neighborhoods expressed resistance to a light rail line passing close by to them and spurred an effort by the Bellevue City Council to study alternative routes.
