Marcus P. Miller, who designed the nearby The Dark Room photographic store at 5370 Wilshire Boulevard, also did this retail building on the northwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Cloverdale Avenue. The Chandler's Shoe Store dated from c. 1938.
