In 1943, during the height of military production, Frederick and Nelson opened a department store outlet at this Boeing Plant, enabling plant workers to shop conveniently. From this period forward, Boeing employees remained very loyal to the F and N chain, that had, since 1929, been owned by Chicago's Marshall Field and Company Department Store Chain.
