Located on a man-made island between San Pedro, CA, and Long Beach, CA.

This church opened on 07/09/1899. Terminal Island, because of its remote location, was not considered prime residential land, and, therefore, Japanese-American families were allowed to live there in substantial numbers before World War II. President Roosevelt's Executive Order #9066 forced the Japanese-American inhabitants of Terminal Island to be relocated to internment camps inland in CA. Following their departure, the homes of these families were demolished.

Terminal Island was a man-made settlement located between the Harbors of Los Angeles (San Pedro) and Long Beach. Before 1918, it was also known as "Rattlesnake Island" and "Isla Raza de Buena Gente."
