The Buckaroo Tavern opened in this location in 1938. Between 1938-2010, it had three operators, the last being Donna Morey (born c. 1941). The bar was known for its neon sign of a cowboy riding a bucking bronco with the phrase "Buckaroo Tavern" lit in pink neon below. The bar was set to close on 09/17/2010, but the grandson of the owner was hoping to relocate elsewhere in the Fremont Neighborhood. The Buckaroo was a favorite of local motorcycle enthusiasts. The building's owners, Lars and Nils Christian, were, in 07/2010, set to open another tavern in their space, called the "Nils-Sila Pub."

In 2010, this mixed-use apartment/store building occupied a 4,588-square-foot (0.11 acres) lot. Having two stories, it contained 3,900 square feet, 2,184 square feet allocated to the Buckaroo Tavern and 1,716 square feet set aside for the upstairs apartment. Its exterior had a false front facade with the exterior sheathed by clapboard siding. The property had a taxable value of $677,600 in 2010. Tel: 206.634.3161 (2010);
