The Vulcan Iron Works operated on property bounded by 5th Avenue South, Lane Street and Seattle Boulevard.
The name "Vulcan Iron Works" was in common usage by iron fabricators in the late 19th century, as the god Vulcan (Greek, Hephaestus) was the mythical founder of metal fabrication.
