The wealthy cracker manufacturer Roland Porter Bishop, Sr., (b. 11/25/1855 in Flemingsburg, KY- d. 09/26/1950 in Beverly Hills, CA) was a widower living in this house with his 14-year-old daughter and a servant in 1900. By 04/1910, he had remarried and lived here with his second wife, Dorothy Wellborn Bishop (b. 11/17/1869 in Atlanta, GA), a son, Roland P. Bishop, Jr., (born 08/09/1905 in Los Angeles, CA-01/01/1950 in Los Angeles) and four servants. Bishop later moved to a grand estate in Beverly Hills, CA at 1600 Lexington Road.
