Building History
The three-floor, brick-faced Buckley Apartments opened to tenants in 1928. Its developer was Edward L. Merritt, who trained as an architect and worked in his father's construction business. He established the Merritt-Hall Investment Company as a development entity. Prior to this, he operated the Craftsman Bungalow Company after 1917. He managed the Merritt Realty Company during the 1920s. Building Notes
In 2025, the Buckley Apartments occupied a 12,000-square-foot (0.28-acre) lot. It contained 34,455 gross square feet, 21,388 net. The apartment house had 3,000-square-feet of basement parking space. The Buckley contained 31 apartments, two 900-square-foot, 2-bedroom units; fourteen, 700-square-foot, one-bedroom units; fourteen 500-square-foot, studio units; and one 1,000-square-foot, two-bedroom unit.
