The Seattle Times reported in its 09/04/1960 issue: "The Iris, 25 units at 415 West Roy St., was sold by Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Tindall to Mr. and Mrs. George L. Shafer for $145,000." (See "Sales of 3 Apartments Total $655,000," Seattle Times, 09/04/1960, p. 22.)

The 3-story Iris Apartments possessed 21,432 gross square feet, 13,944 net, and occupied a property 6,612 square feet (0.15 acre) in size. A wood-frame building, it had 26 units in 2010, each with an average of 536 square feet. Iris Associates LLC was the owner in 2010, at which time it had an assessed valuation of $3,087,000.
