The Elliott Bay Book Company, long a fixture on 1st Avenue in Pioneer Square, moved from that location to this new address, once a truck-repair shop, in 04/2010. It no longer sold used books at this new store, an inventory that consumed about 10% of the previous store's floor space. A grand opening party was held here 04/15/2010. The old Elliott Bay Cafe, that once occupied the basement of the old bookstore, remained in Pioneer Square, but another cafe was to be opened at the new store in later 04/2010. Peter Aaron was the bookstore's owner at this time.

This masonry warehouse occupied a 15,360 sq. ft. (0.35 acres) lot; a one-story building, it had an appraised value of $2,074,600 in 2010. Its interior contained 30,240 square feet.
