Alteration
An addition of 28 beds with a central core was completed in 12/1962. Jones, Lovegren, Helms and Jones were the architects for this 1962 frame on slab addition. A Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) opened at 1035 116th Avenue NE on 11.01/2012. This addition contained 5,100 square feet, and cost $3.6 million. The new NICU could accommodate 18 babies, about 9 more than the previous facility. GBJ Architecture P.C.of Portland, OR, designed the building, which was erected by Bellevue's GLY Construction. Terri S. Bertucci Interior Design produced the interior designs, Altermatt Associates was the Acoustical Engineer, Seattle Structural, the Structural Engineers, Coffman Engineers, the electrical engineers, and Engineering Economics, headquartered in Golden, CO, the Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer.
