This building consisted of a tri-lobed building (constructed of concrete blocks) attached to a taller, tented structure supported by a center pole. This drama building contained a theatre, rehearsal rooms and a scene shop. Cables supported the Teflon-coated fiberglass fabric, like a circus tent. The Drama Lab was built at the same time as a neighboring Student Center, also a tensile fabric structure, and cost approximately $2.1 million. The Shaver Partnership served as the architect, Bob D. Campbell and Company was one engineering consultant, and T.Y. Lin, Kulka, Yang and Associates was the another engineering consultant. Birdair Structure fabricates the Teflon-coated fiberglass fabric and Research and Design Institute was the interior designer.
