The Los Angeles Public Library occupied 6,700 square feet in the Los Angeles City Hall until 03/1906; it then moved to a location with 20,000 square feet and a 6,000-square-foot roof garden between 1907-1908. By mid-year of 1908, the library moved again to 31,000 square feet on the third floor of the Hamburger Department Store Building.
