Building History

The New York Brewery operated in Los Angeles, CA, c. 1880. In 1882, the New York Brewery stood at 4 3rd Street with Phil Lauth its sole proprietor. (See Los Angeles, California, City and County Directory, 1881-2, [Los Angeles: Southern California Directory Company, 1881], p. 159.) Los Angeles had one other brewery at the time, the Philadelphia Brewery, located at 95 Aliso Street.

In 1887, it had its brewery on 3rd Street near South Spring Street; Fauth and Stecker were the proprietors. (See Los Angeles, California, City Directory, 1887, p. 310.)
