This temporary U.S. Naval medical facility was de-commissioned in 1947 and acquired by King County; the county then consolidated three of its smaller tuberculosis sanitoria here creating a 1,350-bed facility. After 1950, tuberculosis became much less problematic to treat with advent of streptomycin and other antibiotics.
When built, this hospital occupied land in unincorporated King County, north of Seattle, WA.
