This modestly-scaled hotel catered to tourists viewing the Columbia River Gorge and the picturesque Wah Gwin Gwin Falls, a drop of 207 feet. In 1920, the Portland lumber magnate and hotelier, Simon Benson, bought the property, demolished it, and erected his fancier Columbia Gorge Hotel.
