Oysterville served as the capital of Pacific County since the town won an election to be the seat in 05/1855. For approximately 20 years, county officials used various available buildings within which to hold commissioners' meetings and other public business. This first purpose-built courthouse was erected c. 1875 and operated until about 1893, when the county seat moved to South Bend, WA. This courthouse was demolished in a fierce windstorm soon after the seat was changed.

Demolished c. 1893 in a windstorm.
