This Safeway Grocery Store had a branch of the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union inside it; this branch was robbed twice in a two-month period, once on 08/20/2009 and again on 09/10/2009, by the same man, James Bartlow, nicknamed by police as the "Fashion Faux Pas Bandit." Bartlow's driver in the 09/10/2009 heist was killed by sheriff's deputies in the parking lot of the nearby Club Hollywood Casino.
