The 8-room Ross School #2 replaced the first in 01/1903; it was renamed the Farragut School in 03/07/1903, but was again rechristened the Ross School on 09/01/1903; in 1939, the Seattle Public Schools made a 99-year lease with the Seattle Parks Department on this property for use as a playground. It closed for good in 06/1940 was demolished on 01/18/1941. The Ross Playfield subsequently has occupied the 1.16-acre parcel.
