The timber-frame Cafe Tokio occupied one end of the Pay Streak. It consisted of two pavilions, each topped with a hipped pagoda roof, that formed an entry courtyard; the entrance to the courtyard was marked by a traditional torii, or entry gateway. One pavilion had a hipped pagoda cupola; the other was topped by a gabled tower. The exterior had a sign, "Cafe Tokio Cafe."
