The Sisters of Visitation opened this school for girls in 1923 and operated it here until 1954, when it was demolished to make way for the new $7 million Villa Plaza Shopping Center, that opened in 1957. Tacoma developer, Norman Iverson & Associates, paid the order $500,000 for their school and the 100 acres on which it stood.
