This was one of two outlets owned by the Rhodes Family, the other being the flagship store in Downtown Tacoma, WA. This location operated from 1957-1979, when it and a later Rhodes Brothers Department Store at Tacoma Mall were obtained by the Seattle-based Frederick and Nelson Department Store chain. The Villa Plaza Shopping Center, itself, was demolished c. 1985 and replaced by the Lakewood Mall that opened for business 4 years later.

Demolished c. 1985. It was replaced by Lakewood Mall, which was itself demolished in 2001. The Lakewood Towne Center complex replaced the Lakewood Mall and began its operations in 2002.
