This L-shaped, one-story garage served vehicles of the City of Los Angeles in Van Nuys, CA. The cornice line had a painted sign, "City Hall Paint and Body Shop." It pre-dated 1932. The garage was configured with rooftop windows to admit daylight for mechanics.
