The Fenyes House was located on the northwest corner of Orange Grove Boulevard and Ellis Street

Thompson purchased this property on the northwest corner of Orange Grove Boulevard and Ellis Street for $35,000 in 07/1904. The 18-room house was located on a 150 x 114 foot lot, and had been owned by Dr. Adalbert Fenyes and his wife, Eva Scott Fenyes. Fenyes was an avid entomologist. A Los Angeles Times story on 02/12/1905 indicated that Thompson got "a bargain at the price quoted." (See "By Builders and Architects A Pasadena Residence," Los Angeles Times, 02/12/1905, V16.)
