Erected as a trading post in 1833, Fort Nisqually was the earliest large-scale Euro-American settlement in the Puget Sound Region.

The Granary and Factor's House of Fort Nisqually were relocated to Port Defiance State Park, where a replica of other parts of the Fort were built.
