The Chapman Park's property was bounded by Wilshire Boulevard, Sixth Street, Mariposa Avenue and Alexandria Avenue.

Samuel James Chapman erected the first Chapman Hotel building in 1925. The hotel also included over a dozen bungalows spread across its 5-acre grounds. The Chapman Park Hotel was located directly across the street from the original Brown Derby Restaurant.

The noted Los Angeles interior furnishings company, Barker Brothers, furnished the public spaces of the Chapman Park Hotel.

A Pueblo Revival Style addition was built in 1936, designed by Los Angeles architect, Carleton Monroe Winslow.

Demolished 1967. In 1968, the Equitable Building was erected on this site.
