Overview

This house designed by David C. Lewis for his new bride and himself, had photos of its interior and exterior exhibited at the 1st Annual Exhibition of the Portland Architectural Club, 1908, ([Portland, OR: Portland Architectural Club, 1908], p. 35). The couple married on 06/20/1906 in Portland.

Architect's own house; this Dutch Colonial was based on models found in Long Island, according to architect and historian Richard Ellison Ritz. (See Richard Ellison Ritz, "Lewis, David Chambers," Architects of Oregon, [Portland, OR: Lair Hill Publishing, 2002], p. 252.)
