David Chambers Lewis designed this exposition building with Frank P. Allen, Jr., a Michigan-born architect who developed expertise designing and siting exposition buildings in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, and San Diego, CA. The two later worked on the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in Seattle, WA, in 1909.
