Building History
The Tarywood Forest Addition sub-division was originally platted in 1955, developed by a cadre of developers called Tarywood Forest, Incorporated. The Tarywood development occupied land on which the Girl Scout Camp Tarywood, established in 1933, existed previously. Three later parcels within this property, known as Island Point, were developed in 1963 by developer Edward Maxfield and the development/construction firm of Black and Caldwell. Island Point contained 77 houses.
