This site at 136 Front Street is no longer extant, now park of Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

Building History

This store operated from 1864-1878, when it was destroyed by a large fire that gutted 20 surrounding blocks. The store was rebuilt immediately on the same site.

Building Notes

The name of the business changed to reflect the partnership made between Aaron Meier and the Frank Brothers, Emil and Sigmund, in 1873.

Demolition

A fire destroyed this popular general store in 1878.
