This was the first of six Jay Jacobs stores, selling first women's and, later, men's apparel, in the Seattle area. The chain grew into a 300-store chain operating across the West. It collapsed in 1999.
A large Gap Store took the space formerly occupied by Jay Jacobs after 1999.
