The independently-owned Colonial opened on 06/07/1940; the Theatre Catalog,1950, (p. 154), indicated that the Colonial Theatre opened in 1942.

It exhibited soft and hard-core adult films during the 1960s-1970s.

This theatre seated 856 patrons when new.
