Publisher of the Hollywood Reporter, William R. Wilkerson (09/29/1890-09/02/1962), opened the Trocadero on Sunset Bouelvard in 1934; celebrities made the club one of the most prestigious night clubs in Los Angeles during the 1930s-1940s; the jitterbug dance craze supposedly developed at the Trocadero. Wilkerson also developed other clubs nearby, such as Ciro's and LaRue, that made this section of the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood central in the city's nightlife.

Demolished.
