Overview
A nondescript, two-floor dormitory, the walls of Crothers Hall were formed of reinforced concrete for seismic strength. It was designed by the San Francisco architectural firm of Spencer and Ambrose. Eldridge T. Spencer served as the Director of Planning and Supervising Architect at Stanford University from 1948 until about 1960. This dorm was erected about seven years before Crothers Memorial Hall, an engineering student's lodging facility, located to the east.
