22-year-old MIT architecture graduate, Sophia Hayden, won the competition set up for women architects only to design their own temporary exposition building. Within it, women from California designed the "California Room," located next to the "Japanese Room," on one side, and the "Cincinnati Room," on the other. Kentucky also sponsored a space in the Woman's Building.
