This building opened on 11/03/1989; a serious construction accident occurred in 1988, in which one steel worker, Michael Krall, fell from the 9th floor of Pacific First Center's steel armature on 07/22/1988; his employer, Erection Company of Arlington, WA, was fined $2,250 in the incident. Sellen Construction was the General Contractor for the building.

The City Centre Mall occupied three stories at the base of the Pacific First Center.
