The first Yaquina Head Lighthouse Keeper, Fayette Crosby, lit the first beacon on 08/20/1873.

Yaquina Head remains Oregon's tallest lighthouse, at 93 feet; it was constructed of 370,000 bricks on a windswept spit of land, Yaquina Head, overlooking the Oregon coast.
