The Smiths built this homestead in 1872, and occupied it until 1880, when they moved to Portland, OR. While living here, they mined clay from the site for use as pottery and bricks. Joseph and Louisa Stevenson purchased the house after 1880 and lived there until 1882 at the earliest and 1889 at the latest. The Stevensons were known to have moved to Portland by c. 1889.
