Cost for the Downtown Seattle to Sea-Tac/Airport Station was set at $261 million as of 09/10/2009. Sound Transit officials hoped to open the line by 12/31/2009 at the latest. (A news story in the Seattle Times [12/17/2009] indicated that the cost of the airport rail segment stood at $268 million.) Seattle completed light rail service to its airport in 12/2009; Vancouver, BC, Canada, finished its airport line in 09/2009, in time for Winter Olympic visitors in 02/2010. Portland, OR, had its airport rail service operating by 2001.

A pedestrian bridge, linking the Sea-Tac/Airport Station with the 4th floor of an existing airport parking garage, was put in place on 09/10/2009.
