This two-story, log-framed compound was constructed to resist attacks by local Native American tribes angry at the appearance of white settlers. Fort Duwamish was located on land owned by Luther Collins (1813-1860), the earliest Anglo settler near the mouth of the Duwamish River.

Demolished.
