This wood-frame house cost $5,800 in 1938, a modest sum for the time. Its main notable feature was the curving living room window on the north side, a feature found in many California architects' work between 1935-1940; the north facade featured a tree-lined view of San Lorenzo Creek.

Simonds cut the length of corridors in the house to a minimum, emphasizing space for living rooms.
