Pfeiffer, a German-born photographer, migrated to Los Angeles in 1992; he purchased a 3-bedroom, 1940s bungalow in Venice and lived in it, until his children came to live with him to attend college. Needing room, Pfeiffer commissioned Nota to design this 2,000-square foot residence on the same property which was fortunately zoned to accommodate two dwellings. To make room for his new house, Pfeiffer tore down an existing garage.
