This new work center helped place illegal immigrants in day-work positions; beginning in 2008, it was to be developed in two phases: first a multi-purpose work center was to be finished by 12/2008; next, to be done by 02/2010, a 6,000-square-foot facility was to accommodate other Casa Latina education programs and its administration.

In 2008, Hilary Stern was the Director of Casa Latina; Stern was instrumental in designing the second Casa Latina location. Groundbreaking for the new center occurred 09/08/2008. The new building was set to cost $4 million.
